The annual Stormwater and Water Quality Management Conferences, held in Toronto in Winter, continue to attract a fascinating slate of about three dozen papers, and about 150 enthusiastic participants. The organisers have always taken pride in the informality of the conferences - abstracts for presentation are considered until about the week before the two-day conference, papers are due at the end of the conference, the program is easily adjusted, volunteers are belatedly cajoled into acting as session chairs, graduate students really volunteer to help to keep the logistics smooth, and the price (under $ 100) is the best anywhere for an informative, fast-paced, full, two-day technical conference.
