Over the years, the publisher and I have discussed photographing strictly a patterns identification book, batting around various ideas. It was all simply discussion until last spring when he suddenly decided he wanted me to do one! He presented his core idea. I thought immediately that it would be a good place to show pieces not identified in my other books which consistently generate letters and photos in my mail. Cathy, my wife, thought it ought to include collectible items presently languishing in the markets because no one recognizes eht they are. In seconds, we went from research mostly completed to mountains of it to do. I, also, found myself agreeing to a couple of other books: and suddenly, my ensuing year leaped from peaceful to chaotic in the blink of an eye.
